Your friendship is special
Like the flowers that bloom,
Or when a butterfly emerges
From within its cocoon...
You remind me of that butterfly,
Loving and free,
Bright and colorful,
For the world to see...
We will share sunshine and rainbows;
Sometimes, the rain and the snow;
We'll stand together through it,
While the cold winds blow...
When the time is right,
We won't stop to ask "Why?"
Our friendship will take flight
On the wings of a butterfly ...

Happy 55th Birthday Mom!
Forget about the diet last night because my hubby bought Ayam Manis Keningau (this is very yummy, you guys should try it!), sate and sausages (for my kids). My mom prepared the Sambal Ikan Bilis and Cencaluk while my sister cooked the vegetables and Chicken Soup (for my kids). The Chocolate Cake is very delicious, bought by my sister's boyfriend.
The celebration is very simple but the most important thing for us is the 'Family Gathering'! My mom is very suprised because we told her that we are unable to come..he..he..that's why she's so unprepared when we snap her photo..ha..ha..don't worry mom, you always look beautiful to us.
Anyway, something funny happened last night! I was asked to lead the family prayer and food blessing but before that, my kids and my sister started to laugh! I'm not sure what they are laughing at but I can't concentrate to pray anymore. That's my bad habit, if somebody start to laugh, I couldn't stop laughing too! I tried to stop laughing for a while but...luckily I managed to pray 'Thanks for the foods and give a good health to my mom..Amen..' (What a short prayer huh?). Then everybody started to laugh too. Oh well...
I don't know how many sate I ate last night! Berabis kasi habis coz the next day is Friday, we are still in Lent Season (No meat every Friday eventhough we can replace it on another day). How I wish the other family members are there with us last night!
To my beloved mom,

Winnie The Pooh

At the aged of 32, I'm still a cartoon fanatic fan. My favourite cartoons are Tom & Jerry, Pink Panther, Shaun The Sheep, Mickey Mouse, etc but the top one is Winnie The Pooh (WTP). I love WTP because of the character itself, especially Winnie. He's very polite, soft spoken, helpful and cute. It's very hard nowadays to find such cartoon character. Most of the new cartoon characters are very rough, lots of fighting, war, etc and I don't think it's suitable for kids but that's what most shown on the tv.

Bambangan & Tuhau
Hmmm...I bought it just this morning at gerai with my mom. Actually the gerai is located just behind my house. So, just walk for a few minutes or if I'm lazy, tu auntie bilang just bersiul panggil dia..ha..ha..
Actually, I don't like to eat tuhau before because of the smell, 'macam bau posisang!' but after a few try, I kinda love it. One day, I really hope I can eat bosou as well.
Anyway, talking about the gerai, the owner is a Muslim woman but she's very friendly. No wonder she have so many customers everyday! She sell lots of local fruits, sambal petai, bambangan, tuhau, kuih jala, kuih sepit, pudding and chocolate cakes but the most popular is coconut jelly! Sedap bangat! It only cost RM 2.00 each!
I like the pudding as well, different kinds of flavour such as pineapple, mango, coconut, etc and it cost only RM 1.00 each! However, it doesn't mean that I'll buy it everyday. It's not good for health because of the ingredients, right? So, once a week is enough for me.
So, to all Sabahan people, we should be proud of our own local foods.

Butterfly Tattoo
I love butterfly tattoo, but I don't have the courage to make it because I'm afraid of the needle and I can't imagine the pain..OMG! However, most of my friends told me that the pain is like 'kena gigit semut'? Is it true? Anyway, the above pic is my favourite butterfly tattoo, what do you think?

Happy Lent Season!
Hi friends, how's your Lent so far? Mine is not good..I don't know what's wrong with me, but I can't control my temper! I guess maybe it's because my 'Bendera Jipun' will be coming soon. Normal for a woman to act like that two or one week before the 'Bendera Jipun' dtg menyerang..lol
However, it's not an excuse, so please pray for me to act as good as possible especially on this Lent season. By the way, I'd like to share something about the Lent season. Take time to read and understand it.

..................................................................................
Of Lent and Life
Dear Spirit and Life Readers,
The Scriptures and our Church both tell us that Lent is not a season for timid creatures. If in Lent we were to simply jump through the hoops of fasting and abstinence on the days prescribed, we would be rightly accused of a sort of spiritual minimalism. But God is not served by minimalists - He wants tested saints of faith to be channels of His Life to the world! That is what Lent calls us to be.
How will we embrace God's Life so deeply this season? The answer is simple. By first jettisoning the baggage we have accumulated in our lives over the past year. I am talking here about interior personal baggage that we have picked up at the cheap convenience stores of human frailty and about which we let ourselves off the hook continuously: pettiness, every sort of self-indulgence, backbiting, selfish attitudes, worldliness, gossip and the like. Withdrawing permission for anti-Christian behaviors at the core of our beings and ridding ourselves of these faults and imperfections is the first order of business for Lent. It is the basic Gospel call to conversion of heart, and there is no growth in the spiritual life if we do not repent of the things that keep us far away from God. Will we accept the challenge of removing the blockages to God's grace this Lent?
If so, this interior purification is just the first step to embracing His Life. The Church gives us three more: prayer, fasting and almsgiving. They seem so commonplace, yet these practices can create a consuming fire within us, transforming us into spiritually strong men and women of Christ. These practices are not spiritual drudgery; they are spiritual life! We don't put on our calendars that we have to "embrace life today"! We only have to live life each day, and in the same way, Lent asks us to consciously live those things which are channels of spiritual life for us.
Make prayer a passion, not a duty. Ask God for the grace to understand the true nature of prayer which is the very soul of our spiritual lives. If we don't pray, we suffocate spiritually. We wouldn't allow that to happen to our physical bodies, yet through negligence and any number of excuses we drop prayer off our list of priorities and end up spiritually suffocating our souls. There is no time like the present to commit ourselves to a strong prayer life. The interior benefits are truly life-giving.
Fasting makes us spiritual men and women in a way that few other practices can because fasting is a voluntary renunciation of desires of the flesh. No truly spiritual person can live without this practice. So here is a simple Lenten challenge - skip a meal. I guarantee that you will not die! Quite the contrary - you will find yourself filled with divine light in the depth of your being and a vibrancy of life like you have never felt before. Really try it.
Finally, make sure you go above and beyond the call of duty to help your neighbor. Almsgiving, namely, the voluntary deprivation of personal resources for the sake of another, is inconvenient, and sometimes radically so. No matter. Do it anyway and trust God to send it back to you many-fold. When even the smallest deeds of kindness and generosity are done with a completely childlike heart that expects nothing in return, the actual return is a full measure of God's grace and blessing. I would rather have that than all the money in the world.Be faithful to Lent. It is a deep training program in life, divine Life that is. Let's not lose the opportunity to become deeply spiritual men and women this Lent, and God will then make us a channel of His Life to others.
Sincerely,
Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer,
President,
