April is the Humor Month

April Fools' Myspace Comments
MyNiceSpace.com

Yeah, April is the humor month. It goes without saying that we need to add a liberal dose of humor in our lives if we have to fight out the odds. Having a sense of humor is a rare gift and if you can laugh away your days, you belong to an elite club of lucky people.

April Fool's Day, or All Fools' Day, is a holiday celebrated in many countries on April 1. The custom of playing practical jokes on friends was part of the celebrations in ancient Rome on March 25 (Hilaria) and in India on March 31 (Huli). The timing seems related to the vernal equinox and the coming of spring-a time when nature fools us with sudden changes between showers and sunshine.

The day is celebrated by the execution of hoaxes and practical jokes of varying sophistication with the goal of publicly embarrassing the gullible. Pranks are suppose to end by noon and those done afterwards are suppose to bring bad luck to the perpetrator. Some sources say that the special meaning of April 1 originates in the French change to the Gregorian calendar ordered by King Charles IX of France in 1582. Before that, New Year was celebrated from March 25 to April 1. With the change of the calendar system, New Year was "moved" to January 1. People who forgot or didn't accept the new date system were given invitations to nonexistent parties, funny gifts, etc.

In France, the victim of a joke is called an "April Fish" (poisson d'avril). In England, tricks can be played only in the morning. If a trick is played on you, you are a "noodle". In Scotland, you are called an "April gowk", which is another name for a cuckoo bird. In Portugal, April Fool's is celebrated on the Sunday and Monday before Lent. The traditional trick there is to throw flour at your friends. Humor and practical jokes are universal.

Some media organisations have either unwittingly or deliberately propagated many hoaxes. Even normally serious news media consider April Fools' Day hoaxes fair game, and spotting them has become an annual pastime.

Well, lucky me because I'll always remember the April Fool's Day. However, I've been fooled once by my mom. It happened in 1998, when I was still working as a receptionist in Executive Hotel, Lahad Datu. I worked night shift the day before and I am very tired when I arrived at home.

The next morning of April 1st, my mom suddenly woke me up and said there's a call for me from my workplace. I'm so lazy to pick up the phone but thinking about it must be something urgent from my manager, I woke up and said ' Hello, Renny speaking'...but of course nobody answered. Just then, my mom and my siblings laughed so loud at me!! Oh gosh..I went to my bedroom straight away..malu gia..I used to fool them and this time it's their turn to fool me..ha..ha..

Well, enjoy your April Fool's Day..

Earth Hour

Everybody is talking about the Earth Hour. So, how is your Earth Hour? I keep on reminding my family members and friends about it. However, some of my neighbours here in Keningau didn't care about it and it made me so sad because this is the first time ever in Malaysia we are participated.

Sadly to say, when I log on to (http://www.earthhour.org), most of the comments are this campaign is a waste of time! Poor people who are negative thinking! They should have more awareness in this matter. Mr Andy Ridley (Earth Hour Executive Director) told reporters, "The primary reason we do it is because we want people to think, even if it is for an hour, what they can do to lower their carbon footprint, and ideally take that beyond the hour"

I am so proud of myself to be one of the supporters in Malaysia that took part in this Earth Hour campaign, don't you? You should be proud of yourself too! Even my kids don't mind to have their dinner without the light, only candle. They still enjoyed their meals.

Well, I think this campaign should be done every year. What do you think?

What a poor tortoise!

My kids and I just came back from my mom's house. We went there just to see the tortoise which my mom found yesterday afternoon. Actually, she saw a group of young kids gathered in front of the house and made some noise! My mom walked towards them and they ran away leaving the poor tortoise with some woods! How dare them to beat the tortoise. Don't they have any pity? So stupid of them!

Anyway, my mom have decided to take care of the poor tortoise. Here are some photos that I took just now.

We called it 'Si cute'

My kids are very excited to see the tortoise

Eventhough my kids are quite scared of the tortoise at first but then they tried to talk to it. We should teach our kids how to love and appreciate God's creation such as tortoise. Otherwise, they'll do the same like what the group of young stupid kids have done!

AF7's 2nd Concert : Better than last week!

Well, in my opinion, this week concert got improvement, much better than last week.I'm impressed with their opening ' Menuju Puncak'. However, I think their BIG PROBLEM is they don't know how to control their 'memek muka' or how to express their feelings.

Don't get mad at me, I just want to share my opinions with you all.

1) Akim ~ Macam syok sendiri, 'tak serius time belajar'

2) Adilla ~ She got the lowest votes since she entered the academy. Wonder why? If you look @ Ch 15, nobody like her just because of her engagement incident, misunderstanding about 'Kerabat Diraja Kedah'. Sad and unfair, isn't it? They judge her just based on the incident? If you don't believe me, try to search at the internet or read the previous article in Media Hiburan! All I can say is..'jari menjadi juri'!

3) Aril ~ He's talented too, got full package but as Edrie said, problem with his pitching but he's good in shuffle.

4) Aishah ~ Suara power but please don't wear high heels in next concert..'nampak sangat dia tak pandai jalan'

5) Claudia ~ 2nd best performance for me but she's quite good

6) Hafiz ~ The best performance tonight eventhough ' ada lari pitching sikit' but he managed to cover it. Good level confident! Hope he'll be in top 3.

7) Isma ~ Suara memang power ala-ala Dato' CT but she better learn how to dance. It doesn't mean you have 5 kids and feel ashamed to dance!

8) Obri ~ Alamak budak ni, over confident la. Macam syok sendiri pun ada!

9) Qhaud ~ Budak ni lagi, suara quiet ok but the way he express his feelings..aiyaa, I don't know how to explain!

10) Rubisa ~ Very talented but sometimes I don't like her behaviour in academy. Don't talk about your sickness too much, 'kalo mo jadi artis mesti pandai-pandai la'.

11) Rini ~ Ooooo..Emotional! Mo control cantik depan camera, what a boring performance? Kaku bah, seolah-olah she's carrying something heavy on her head, maybe her hair is too long, so berat kepala..I guess that's why she can't move or dance very well! (I'm sorry but I hope she'll be voted out in next week concert)

12) Sidi ~ Same goes to Sidi (I'm sorry but I also hope that he'll be voted out next week). Don't let your personal problem made you 'hilang fokus' la..

13) Yazid ~ Suara ntah ke mana, especially the 1st song, Lelaki Ini (I luv that song but hancur la..) Tak guna kalo pandai breakdance je bro..

14) Zizi ~ I like her voice and performance tonight but ada 'kangkang' juga..dah la pakai dress..not suitable la..

Hey, common guys..this is my opinion based on the 2nd week concert. I'm a fanatic fan of AF, that's why I'm quite disappointed this year! Their tagline is 'SATU TRANSFORMASI AKAN BERLAKU'.There is a transformation but not like what I expected! Nevermind, AC said there's a new changes of the stage next week..just wait and see!

Last but not least, I'm sorryyy...

2D/1N stay @ Imperial Hotel

Yeah, I'm still tired. Just came back from KK yesterday evening. As a mother, I can't have a rest because I have to do the all house chores first. Ya lorr, no maid so I have to do it by myself..my hubby terus tertidur kepenatan driving..kasian!

Anyway, it's a last minute decision to go to KK because we are planning to go there on Wednesday evening. However, we really have a great time! We went to Papar first to visit my mother in law at Kg Kopimpinan. We have a rest for a while then proceed to KK around 1300hrs.

We supposed to stay in Tang Dynasty Hotel, but I forgot to make a call to change the date of check in. So, the room is fully booked when we arrived there and we have to wait until 1800hrs if there's any cancelation of the booking earlier. Seems all of us are very tired, we tried to look for another hotel. We went to KK Times Square Hotel but the available room is too small for us.

From one hotel to another hotel, at last we tried our luck to go to Imperial Hotel. Luckily, the room is available. The price is Rm 400++ but there's discount for goverment staff, so we only need to pay RM 225.00 nett (+ complimentary breakfast for 2). Actually. this is our second stay at Imperial Hotel. I like this hotel because of the location. Lots of shopping malls and good restaurants.

Some of you might be wondering why I prefer to stay in the hotel instead of my family members house? The answer is we are on vacation, we don't want to be disturbed, just the four of us..'suka hati mo pegi mana-mana and balik jam berapa'! Besides, we don't like to trouble them.

Okay, let us continue. After a good rest, we went out that night to Warisan Square then CP..'just cuci mata, beli barang anak-anak'. Really, I'm not in the mood of shopping, so i just bought some junk foods..ha..ha..'makan saja bah'! Imagine-lah, my hubby gave me RM100 just to buy the junk foods..'opps, tapi sa kasi abiss RM30 saja bah gia' (Still got balance until today). As usual, we will have our dinner at KFC then we just hanging around and came back to hotel around 2300hrs then zzzz...

The next day, we had our complimentary breakfast at the Roof Top Restaurant (if i'm not mistaken) around 0930hrs. We check out from the hotel around 1100hrs.

Before we go back to Keningau, my hubby brought us to KKIA. This is our first visit to KKIA after the renovation. OMG! I really love the new surrounding..'kelas gitu' but something very, very funny incident happened there but I'll make it as a secret between us only :)

We were at the KKIA about an hour then we decided to go home. My kids are so sleepy, they fell asleep so fast when they got into the car. Same goes to me..he..he..poor hubby 'terpaksa drive sorang-sorang'..sorry dear! We need to go back because my hubby have to attend his exam on Wednesday.

Thanks God for the safe journey. We arrived Keningau around 1600hrs and had our late lunch at one of the restaurant in town. Then, I asked my hubby to send me to the Fish & Vege Market..'mo beli lauk untuk di rumah'..

The end..ha..ha..

AF7 Concert..BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS!

Broken Heart Myspace Comments
MyNiceSpace.com

Honestly, I am so upset, frustated, unhappy..what else..about the AF7 concert tonight. I know, this is their first concert but it's beyond my expectations! What I mean is, I'm waiting for something to be happening as their slogan is 'SATU TRANSFORMASI AKAN BERLAKU!' but nothing special! Well, don't mad at me because this is my blog, this is my opinion and I'd like to share with you all how I feel right now.

I can see there are some changes especially on the music arrangement, setting of the stage but I guess the background is too dark. Besides, there's no use to put the audience in front of the stage. There aren't pro singer yet! Why don't they just stick to the old setting? I know, they want to make some changes but I don't think it's suitable. Even the audience are not sporting enough!

Talking about the jury, Adlin is quite good in giving his comments but how I wish Ogy is there with him too.

I know..I know..this is just the first concert but don't make any excuse-lah! Common-lah, this is the 7th season already. As a fanatic fan of AF, I'm expecting something happening in their 1st concert..Their arrangement is quite similar to American idol, isn't it?

I'm not sure about the selection of songs for the next concert, either they'll choose again by themself or will be choosed by their principal, Tiara? I hope it'll be choosed by AF production because we will know who will be the real entertainer such as Stacy AF6!

By the way, I'm not satisfied with their appearance too. Do they have to prepare everthing by themself including their clothes? I don't think 'jeans' is suitable or maybe this is their first concert, so 'hantam sajalah..like that ka..aiyoo.."

One more thing, do you realised that in this concert, I can see only one (1) banner for the student but not sure which student. In the previous concert of AF1-6 we can see lots of AFUNDI banners or maybe this is also part of the transformation, no banners allowed?

Jangan mare ah peminat-peminat AF7..this is just my opinion! I really hope they'll do much better in the next concert! Oh well, I can't wait to view murai.com or read the newspaper..can't wait to read the 'komen yang pedas-pedas'..ha..ha..

Happy School Holidays!

Hooray..school holidays are coming! Any special plan? We are planning to spend 2 nights stay in Kota Kinabalu (KK) during the school holidays. I know, some of you must be wondering, why we always go to KK for holidays not other places? Why?
Well, our kids are still small, I don't mind to wait for another 1 or 2 years to bring them to other places such as Sarawak, KL, Langkawi, etc. I don't have a maid to look after them. Besides, I really want to enjoy the holidays. Therefore, it's more better for us just to 'makan angin' around KK. Eventhough I am Sabahan, but it doesn't mean that I've been to many interesting places, do you?
Know what, my last visit to Sabah Museum is in 1992! That's what I'm saying, I've been to KK many times but I don't have enough time to visit all the interesting places. Luckily, we've been to Lok Kawi Zoo twice..I wonder if you all have been there? I think we must explore Sabah first before we talk about other places. Perhaps, you should go to Borneo Rainforest Lodge (BRL), Danum Valley Field Center (DVFC) or even Maliau Basin for your next holidays! I've been to BRL & DVFC, I'm sure you gonna love it, trust me!
Well, gotta go. Will upload some new photos after I come back from KK!
